Pay Respect

It is with sadness that I inform the wider Army Aviation family of the death of Michael (Pike) Ashwell (aged 53) following an illness.

Michael joined us in 1986 and served with 4 Regt AAC in Detmold as a Lynx Pilot and Flight Commander. He was a Gulf War Veteran and had served in Northern Ireland. He left Regular service as a Captain in 1994 to take up a civilian flying job but was a member of 7 Regt AAC(V). Our thoughts are with his wife Carmel and the family. It is likely that the funeral will be private, with potential for a memorial service later (details will be published when known). Letters of condolence may be passed through RHQ AAC.
