It is with great sadness that I inform you that Sqn Ldr Bryan Beggs (20 Jan 1936) lost his battle with cancer on 25 Jan 2018 aged 82.
Bryan Joined the RAF in the April of 1954 training at RAF Cranwell. He went on to fly the Provost T1, Vampire, Meteor Jet Fighter and Canberra B16 .
Having completed his Basic Helicopter Course at RAF Ternhill, Bryan flew the Whirlwind Mk.10.
In 1965 Sqn Ldr Beggs became an Advanced Qualified Helicopter Instructor before retiring from the RAF in 1967.
In the October of 1967, Bryan joined Bristow Helicopters Ltd as a QHI at Middle Wallop. He became Officer Commanding Basic Rotary Squadron in Jan 1981 and remained until his retirement in Jan 1994.
Our thoughts are with his wife, Diana, his family and friends.
There will be a Memorial Service at St Mary’s Church in Andover (SP10 1DP) on Thursday 01 March 2018 at 1430.
