Pay Respect

It is with great sadness that I report the passing of Pete Cork. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, at home, surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. His wife Elizabeth Liz Cork messaged me yesterday and asked that I inform the Corps Fraternity of this sad news.
I first met Pete when i joined 661 Sqn in Hildesheim fresh off 293 Army Pilot’s Course. He took me out for my first area famil and we became friends. He was one of life’s gentlemen and was always great fun to be around with his lively wit and humour. Always a good sounding board when you needed advice, which as a sprog pilot was pretty often!!
We lost touch when I left the corps in 1990 and subsequently worked together again when we were in bmi regional and Tigerair where he did an outstanding job as the Safety Manager.
I’m sure you will all join me in sending your condolences to Liz and the family at this very difficult time.
Rest easy Pete it was an honour to have known and worked with you.
