Major Peter Elgar

It is with great sadness that I inform the wider Army Aviation family of the recent death of Major (Retd) Peter Elgar on 15th January 2015.

Major Peter Elgar had a varied military career, commissioning into the Dorset Regiment in 1952, serving in Minden, Germany as the Regimental Signals Officer.  Following completion of his pilot’s course, he was attached to 654 Squadron Army Air Corps in

Kilderheim Germany then posted to Wildenrath. He then completed the latter part of his career at Trials & Development, Middle Wallop, retiring in 1965. Further details and information will be published in due course.

Our thoughts are with his wife Trisha and their family.
