Pay Respect

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Staff Sergeant (Retd) RWH Glonek QCVS AFM (Robert Walter Hart (Bob)) (28 Feb 49 – 6 Jan 2020) aged 70. Robert enlisted for service with Scots DG in 1964. He was attached for service with the Army Air Corps and attended No 13 Air Gunner Course in preparation for a posting to 9 Regt AAC, which was based in Detmold, Germany. He qualified as a pilot on APC 253 in 1978 and was posted to 662 Sqn/2 Regt AAC, based in Bunde in Germany. He was awarded the Queen’s Commendation for Valorous Service in 1982 and the Air Force Medal in 1986. His service took him to postings across the Corps, including 9 Regt in Germany, 2 Regt AAC and 3 Regt in Germany, 657 Sqn AAC, C Flt/660 Sqn AAC and 3 Flt/654 Sqn AAC. He completed the circle with a posting to 9 Regt AAC at Dishforth in the early 90s, where he retired from service in 1993. Bob will be remembered by his old comrades as a larger than life character and a respected aviator. Our thoughts are with his wife, Liz, his family and his many friends.
Bob’s funeral will take place on Thu 23 Jan 2020 at Kirkcaldy Crematorium, Rosemount Avenue, Kirkcaldy, KY2 6HQ.
