Pay Respect

Received from RHQ:

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is with sadness and regret that we belatedly report the death of ex WO2 Robert William Hudgell (9 Oct 36 – 2 Jan 17). Robert joined the REME in 1955 and retired from service in the AAC 1978. He qualified as an Army Pilot on No 185 Light Aircraft Course (May 66 – Feb 67) and was posted to 4 Flt AAC in Elmpt, BAOR. He converted to Scouts in 1968 and was Test Pilot at 73 Aircraft Workshop between 1969 and 1972. He transferred to the AAC in 1970. He was posted to 669 Sqn AAC at Wildenwrath in 1972 on completion of a Beaver Conversion course. He remained with 669 Sqn until 1974 and attended a Scout refresher. Robert was promoted to WO2 in 1974 and finished his service with the Corps at Middle Wallop. He continued flying as a helicopter pilot for the northern oil rigs. Our thoughts are with his widow, Sheila, his family and friends.
