Pay Respect

It is with sadness that we report the passing of James Thornton (Jim) McDonald (26 Jul 47 – 2 Apr 21). Jim enlisted for service with the Royal Signals in Nov 71 and after a period of training at Catterick was posted to 7 Armed Bde HQ & Signal Sqn based at Soltau in Germany. In 1974 he transferred to the AAC and was posted to 655 Sqn AAC of 9 Regt AAC, with its HQ in Detmold. There followed a period at the Depot Regiment AAC in Middle Wallop and a final posting to 7 Regt AAC at Netheravon. Jim retired from Service in Dec 84. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. His funeral was held in his Northern Ireland homeland on 7 Apr 21.
