It is with sadness that we report the loss of Maj (Retd) Jamie Turner on 22nd July this year in New Zealand at the age of 88. He was commissioned into the RASC from RMA Sandhurst in December 1949 and then served for three years in the Malayan Campaign. On returning to UK he volunteered for pilot training and on gaining his wings he first remained at Middle Wallop as Adjutant of the Glider Pilot Regt then returned to Malaya for a further tour in 7 Recce Flight, 656 Squadron AAC until 1959. He later continued flying Austers when GSO2 HQ 38 Group RAF at RAF Odiham before transferring to the Royal New Zealand Corps of Transport in 1967.
