From Peter Cuckoo

Ram Kanwar was the Sgt tech store man at 1Regt in Hildesheim. Ex Gurhka and excellent curry maker. He had problems keeping his Gurhka number 211***** when he joined REME. They wanted to give him a new number. Top man who unfortunately succumbed to mouth cancer, I believe.

For those that knew Ian Baines, found out earlier today. One of the best guys I’ve ever worked with, will be truly missed. Arfa.

To all of Ian’s friends and family. It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the passing of Ian this morning after a brief but courageous battle against cancer.
He left us this morning surrounded by his friends and family and we are all grateful to have had our chance to say goodbye.
We really appreciate your condolences but kindly ask that any thoughts of gifts be directed towards St Elizabeth’s Hospice who gave care and love during the past few months.
Further details of funeral arrangements will be released as soon as we know. Please contact Marc Condon if you need to know more.
